Five Common Health Issues Women Face During Pregnancy

It’s not easy for women to express their feelings when they get the news of their pregnancy. This is the time when they may have mixed feelings, including excitement and fear. Sometimes they may get shocked or sentimental after hearing this.

Pregnancy is an exciting journey, but it can be more challenging if any woman is facing any health issues. Mostly, these issues get resolved within this period but sometimes they can lead to severe factors. To avoid this situation, women need obstetric care to ensure good health during pregnancy and even after the childbirth process.

Here are some common health issues women may face during their pregnancy.

  1. Nausea and Vomiting

This is the most common symptom that comes women’s way while they are expecting to have a newborn. This is also known as morning sickness. It starts happening in the first trimester and usually gets better by the second or third trimester. However, some women may take more time staying in this condition.

They need to adopt a healthy lifestyle and eat nutritious food with plenty of water. Keeping their body hydrated as water loss is happening.

  1. High Blood Pressure

Another issue that could be challenging for women to face is high blood pressure during pregnancy. This is also known as ‘hypertension’. It is caused when arteries get narrowed, which carry blood from the heart to other body organs.

Women who have been facing this issue already should keep monitoring it and take the proper medication advised by their doctor. Some may suffer from it during pregnancy, and it will end up with their delivery. 

A well-balanced diet will help them to cope with it. They need to have a morning walk and enjoy the greenery to feel better. Too much medication is not a safe option for pregnant ladies.

  1. Constipation 

It is a commonly reported issue by pregnant ladies. It occurs typically in the second and third trimester when the baby starts to grow and occupies more space. Women feel irritated as they are unable to empty their bowlers. They may also feel itching around the anus, and it may swell often.

Having enough water intake can be an effective way to solve this issue. Women should try to take fiber-rich foods as they play a significant role in digestion. Moreover, adding any physical activity or exercise can help women to come out of this state.

  1. Depression and Anxiety 

These are common pregnancy complications that women fight with. Depression has different types and stages. It’s normal if women are having little of it, but too much depression can be dangerous. Most women are reported with depression after childbirth, while anxiety occurs in depressed pregnant women. 

Depression can last and may take time to go, while anxiety is just a feeling that does not stay longer.

  1. Anemia 

During pregnancy, the volume of blood increases. This means that enough production of blood is needed in the body. But sometimes women have a deficiency of iron in their body during pregnancy period. They may feel laziness and tiredness, not being able to enjoy good health.

Taking prenatal vitamins and iron supplements can be a solution to this problem.
